Forest Leisure Lydney at Forest Leisure, Lydney

Situated in Lydney, Forest Leisure Lydney is the largest of the Forest of Dean Councils five leisure centres and benefits from ample free car parking. Access for the disabled is good. The facilities on offer at the centre include an indoor heated swimming pool, sports hall, gymnasium, three squash courts, a superb floodlit artificial all weather pitch, outdoor tennis courts, outdoor grass pitches and a multi-purpose fitness studio/meeting room. The centre also has a well-equipped air conditioned fitness suite, which is open to members during the daytime and on weekends.

The centre offers a wide range of different activities to cater for all age groups and different fitness levels. Activities include swimming, aqua aerobics, health & fitness classes (including a choice of holistic classes), squash, badminton and tennis and a great range of childrens' party packages.

The centre provides adult and junior swimming lessons and junior football coaching with our fully qualified instructors.

The centre also has an Ofsted approved 'Kids Club' which provides after school and holiday care for children at reasonable rates.

During the school holidays the centre runs structured playschemes for children.

The centre is home to many of the sports clubs in the area including Lydney's Hockey, Netball, Volley Ball and Swimming Club. Many of the local martial arts clubs also use the centre for their training sessions.

The facilities are 'joint use', which means they are shared with Whitecross school. The majority of public use of the dryside facilities takes place during evenings, weekends and school holidays. Some daytime swimming sessions are available and the lifestyle fitness suite is open to members during weekdays from 9.00am to 9.30pm and then from 9.00am to 4.00pm on the weekends.
